Description:
Stabi-Net comprises a wide
spectrum disinfectant and strong algaecide with antistatic, cleansing and
deodorising properties. It is suited particularly to the washing of cage nets
in aquaculture, or indeed any other cloth or fabric used in agriculture or food
processing. The biological composition of the product is based on pressed olive
biomass combined with cationic and non-ionic surfactant compounds of quaternary
ammonium as well as active oxygen. It contains aromatic and miscellaneous
synergistic agents (European patent applies).
Characteristics:
Greenish
liquid with mild pleasant odour and acidic pH.
Indications:
Stabi-Net is an algaecide,
detergent as well as deodorant. It is thus, particularly suited for treating
cage nets prior to or during washing. While a cage net is washed by turning in the
drum of a net washing machine, the net fibres twist and wrinkle resulting in
their contraction and eventual overall de-formation of the net, which soon
becomes unfit for the cage.
The antistatic properties of Stabi-Net condition the net fibres to retain
their normal shape, thus, net contraction is avoided and cage net life is
prolonged.
The strong action of Stabi-Net against Gram negative and Gram
positive bacteria, fungi, viruses and algae, render it ideal for the
simultaneous treatment of the net washer's organic effluent, which comprises a
dense suspension of the organisms attached to the net.
Applications:
When diluted at the rate of 0.3%
(3lt./m3 of water) Stabi-Net
can be used as a fibre conditioner and as a net algaecide and disinfectant. The
nets may be either sprayed or dipped for at least 15-30min in the dilution. Stabi-Net dilutions may be added gradually
directly to the drum of the net washer at the rate of: 1 litre dense product
per 330kg of net.
Stabi-Net may be diluted in fresh
or sea water at a rate not exceeding:
0.3% (1:300 or 3lt./m3
water).
Stabi-Net dilutions in fresh, or sea water remain potent for 15 days.
Advantages:
Stabi-Net is not affected by water
hardness and is equally active when diluted in sea-water. It is stable and is
not oxidised when in contact with air. Its surfactant properties allow in depth
action on the net fibres. It is non-corrosive for metals, safe for the
operators and non-toxic to fish at the proper dilution rate. Treated nets may
return to use immediately. Net washer effluents are sanitised and deodorised
and may flow safely to the sea.
Safe and friendly for the
environment. Bio-degradable.
Precautions
(for the operators):
At the recommended concentrations Stabi-Net is harmless to man and animals. It
is non-toxic, non-caustic or irritant for the skin, eyes or mucous membranes.
Nevertheless, the dense product should be handled with care (e.g. gloves should
be used when preparing the dilutions). When the dense product comes
accidentally into direct contact with skin or eyes, rinse with plenty of water
for a few minutes.
Keep away from children.
Storage
and packing:
Available in 5lt. and
10lt. plastic containers. May be stored for 3 years post
manufacturing in a dark and cool environment.
Close containers firmly after use.
