GENERAL PURPOSE WIDE SPECTRUM DISINFECTANT
FOR AQUACULTURE AND FOOD PROCESSING

Description:

Stabi-Clear is a wide spectrum disinfectant and cleansing product. Its combined bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal properties are based on the action of quaternary ammonium compounds and alcohol. Since cleansing is an essential preliminary to disinfection, the product offers a loose chemical combination of cleansing with disinfecting agents. Its surfactant properties ensure in depth action.

The biological composition of the product is based on pressed olive biomass combined with cationic and non-ionic surfactant compounds of quaternary ammonium as well as alcohol. It contains aromatic and other miscellaneous synergistic agents (European patent applies).

It is particularly suited for use in aquaculture as well as in other agricultural and food processing operations. It is recommended for the disinfection of surfaces and implements, vehicles, farming and food processing installations of any kind, where disinfection must be used routinely.

Key properties:

Disinfectant combined with cleansing agents, deodorant, harmless to man and animals, non-corrosive, biodegradable.

Characteristics:

Lightly pink liquid with mild pleasant odour.

Indications:

Dilutions between 0.4% (1:250) and 0.2% (1:500) are active within 5 minutes of exposure against Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria, such as: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Listeria spp., Salmonella spp., Escherichia spp., Pseudomonas spp., Vibrio spp., Flexibacter spp., Aeromonas spp., Yersinia spp., Pasteurella spp., etc., as well as fungi, such as: Aspergillus spp., Cladosporium spp., Candida spp., etc. and viruses, such as: VHSV, IPNV, Rotavirus, Coronavirus, etc.

Applications:

Subsequent to dilution with fresh or sea water Stabi-Clear may be applied by immersion, brushing or sponging, spraying as well as fogging. Recommended dilution rates are:

0.4% (1:250 or 4lt./m³ or 4ml/lt.) up to 0.2% (1:500 or 2lt./m³ or 2ml/lt.).

For aquaculture installations, such as, hatcheries (marine or fresh water), it may be diluted and sprayed or used for washing any surface, tubing, tanks and implements (e.g. nets, siphons, jugs) or used in foot baths. Small objects may be immersed in the dilution for 5-10min, or even stay submerged until next use (siphons and nets). It kills off and removes quickly any algae growth on tank or raceway walls and water drainage systems.

Fish and food transporting vehicles as well as floors, surfaces and equipment in processing and packing plants may be quickly and efficiently disinfected by spraying.

It removes all unpleasant smells from fish packing plants and refrigerated vehicles.

Stabi-Clear dilutions in fresh or sea water remain potent for 15 days.

The routine disinfection procedures are highly recommended for the prevention and control of economically important fish diseases, particularly damaging during the initial phases of fish development in the hatcheries.

Advantages:

Unlike chlorine, it is stable and is not oxidised when in contact with air. In the presence of organic matter it acts as detergent penetrating and disinfecting in depth. It is not affected by water hardness and is equally active in the presence of sea-water. It is non-corrosive to metallic surfaces or objects. Non-toxic to fish at the proper dilution rates; safe even when accidentally added to fish tanks. Deodorant.

Safe and friendly for the environment. Bio-degradable.

Precautions (for the operators):

At the recommended concentrations Stabi-Clear is harmless to man and animals. It is non-toxic, non-caustic or irritant for the skin, eyes or mucous membranes. Nevertheless, the dense product should be handled with reasonable caution (e.g. wear gloves). When the dense product comes into direct contact with skin or eyes, rinse with plenty of water for a few minutes.

Keep away from children.

Storage and packing:

Available in 5lt. and 10lt. plastic containers. May be stored for 3 years post manufacturing date, in a dark and cool environment.

Close containers firmly after use.
