Excessive visceral fat deposits and
pronounced lipoid degeneration of the liver in an over-fed sea bream grower.
(See that foci or larger areas of the liver parenchyma have been replaced by
fatty tissue.)

Excessive visceral fat and pale, fatty liver
result from overfeeding with high energy diets, especially during the cool
seasons. Apart from their inferior quality flesh, such fat sea bass are often
immuno-compromised and are prone to suffer epizootics, such as vibriosis.
