Handling nursery fry is labour intensive and causes severe stress to
the fish.

Mechanised operations, like fry counting, or
manually operated procedures, like immersion vaccination, must be performed
with meticulous attention to detail; otherwise they may have serious
stress-related repercussions.

Sea bass is particularly sensitive to handling stress.
Stressed fish appear dark, lethargic and disorientated. Most of these fish
die within 24 hours.
